With the introduction of the first FIRTEC controlled monitor KSdigital changed the kind of building professional monitors. The traditional way is the linearisation of the ampitude response. With the FIRTEC(TM) digital signal processing our attention is to reproduce a correct impuls response. This FIR-equalisation means a flat ampitude response and a flat phase response, which means a correct signal with all details in tone and time and stereo image. The products of the A-Line are the state of the art monitors for all applications: the bridge monitor in nearfiled application as well as the In-wall-solution for the big control room.
The ADM 20 represents a complete revision of the very successful ADM 2, which was the first loudspeaker witha digital equalizer worldwide. Naturally we have retained the valued neutrality in transmission behaviour as wellas the now legendary frequency and phase characteristics. The specially developed and patented FIRTEC ™ filtertechnology allows for corrections during the course of the sound emission. This means a flattening in amplitudeas well as in the phase frequency characteristic. On top of this, the precision is increased with a higher samplingrate combined with a whole series of parameters and their different possible configurations which are accessib-le to the user. For example, these include three parametric peak filters to facilitate the exact adaptation to theequipment positioning, low and high shelving, delay as well as phase and mono-test functions. At the same time,the FIRTEC ™ filtering not only compensates for any inadequacies of the drivers, but also considers the wholemonitor system including cabinet, amplifier etc. At the analog input, the signal is converted with a 27 bit ADC (gainstaging method). The digital AES3 input works with up to 32 bit directly on the 32 bit floating point DSP with theFIRTEC ™ filter, the digital, linear phase, differential cross-over unit and overload protector of the drivers. Anoptional hard- or software remote control facilitates the adjustment of the volume to the required level or settingup the peak filter in order to reduce the spatial responsiveness for roommodes or other variables.
